Children’s Work

St. Matthew’s has a friendly and well-established Children’s ministry. Our goal is to see our children learn more about Jesus and His love for them and those around them; and to equip our teens to think deeply about their spiritual lives as they mature.

Young people are a valued part of our community and we love to welcome them and their families on Sunday mornings. There are three Sunday school classes for 3-5’s, 5-8’s and 8-11 year olds – these take place weekly during part of our 10.00am morning service.

There is a thriving youth group for 12-18 year olds, usually divided into under- and over-15’s which meets on alternate Sunday mornings in the Rectory at 10.00. There are also monthly youth group socials at the weekend where teenagers can play, BBQ and learn more about God together.

There is a carpeted creche area at the back of Church where babies and toddlers can be looked after by their parents.

We also have occasional all-age services where our children and youth can participate in and lead the main service.

All our volunteers have undergone safeguarding training.
